This morning, Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Commanderin- Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win and his wife Daw Than Than New hosted a tea reception at the Bayintnaung Villa Guest Hall in Nay Pyi Taw to honour three Independence award winners two of the second grade and one of the third grade who would attend the 80th Armed Forces Day parade.
During the meeting, Vice-Senior General Soe Win and his wife, along with the Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy,and Air) and his wife, as well as senior military officers from the Office of the Commanderin-Chief, individually inquired about the health and well-being of the Independence awardees.
They provided necessary support,personally presenting each hero with honorary cash awards and bird’s nests (energyboosting food).
Following the meeting, Vice-Senior General Soe Win and his wife shared tea and refreshments with the Independence heroes.
The Independence award winners attending this year’s 80th Armed Forces Day ceremony are U Aye Thein, Independence awardee (Third Grade), aged 97, U Ba Chaw, Independence awardee (Second Grade), aged 97, and U Kyaw Sein, Independence awardee (Second Grade), aged 100. Despite their advanced ages, all three remain in good health.
They shared memories of their active participation in the anti-Japanese resistance movement, demonstrating their enduring patriotism and national spirit.
