Fuel oil prices decreased slightly after the Central Bank of Myanmar (CBM) injected much foreign currency into the domestic fuel oil market.
On 10 March, CBM announced that it would sell $33 million and 150 million baht into the fuel oil sector. Moreover, on 3 March, it announced the sale of $23 million and 150 million baht to fuel oil importers. The fuel oil sector received those foreign currencies on 4 March.
Consequently, the set fuel prices decreased to K3,080 per litre of Octane 92, K3,135 for Octane 95, K2,655 for diesel and K3,285 for premium diesel from 14 to 20 March. The figures reflected a decrease of K35 to K75 per litre compared to those of the previous week ending 13 March.
