Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, who is in Moscow on an official goodwill visit to the Russian Federation, met and held discussions this afternoon, local time, with H.E. Ms. Valentina Matviyenko, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, at the Federation Council.
First, the Senior General, along with members of the goodwill delegation, arrived at the building of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, where they were warmly welcomed and greeted by H.E. Ms. Valentina Matviyenko.
Following this, the Senior General signed the guestbook of the Federation Council. Subsequently, the Speaker presented officials of the Federation Council to the Senior General, who in turn presented his delegation members to her.
Afterwards, a meeting was held in the conference hall of the Federation Council. During the meeting, they discussed matters related to cooperation between the two legislative bodies, diplomatic relations between the two countries, the progress of government-togovernment, nation-to-nation, and people-to-people relations, the current state of mutual cooperation between the two legislative bodies, the continued enhancement of bilateral relations and cooperation, the exchange of goodwill visits between the two legislative bodies, the preparations being made by the State Administration Council to hold a free and fair multi-party democratic general election, the possibility of sending observation teams from the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation during Myanmar’s election period, and the further strengthening of relations between the two legislative bodies after the reestablishment of the parliament in Myanmar.The discussions were conducted in an open and cordial manner.
Together with the Senior General at the meeting were Joint Secretary of the SAC General Ye Win Oo, members of the goodwill delegation, the Ambassador of Myanmar to Russia, the Military Attaché (Army, Navy, and Air), and other officials. On the Russian side, the Speaker of the Federation Council and officials from the Federation Council were present.
Following the meeting, the Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister, along with the Speaker of the Federation Council and members of the goodwill delegation, posed for a group documentary photo.
