Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Chairman of the State Administration Council and Vladimir Putin signed an agreement yesterday to build a small nuclear power plant to support Myanmar’s economic sector.
“We have signed an agreement to construct a small nuclear power plant in Myanmar. This will provide Myanmar with much electricity for its economic sector,” Russian President Putin said at the signing ceremony.
According to initial reports from Russian media, during the SAC chairman’s goodwill visit, ten MOUs will be signed, including on the construction of a small nuclear power plant project, mutual recognition of diplomas and academic degrees between the governments of both countries in the education sector, and cooperation in the field of nuclear and radiation safety.
