Myanmar earned US$-510 million from exporting over 1.4 million tons of rice and broken rice within eight months of the current fiscal year, according to Myanmar Rice Federation (MRF).
The county exported 1.411 million tons of rice and broken rice to abroad from April to November of 2022-2023 FY, receiving foreign income worth US$-510 million.
USS$-106 million from exporting more than 264,037 tons of rice and broken rice was earned in November and 250,947 tons worth US$-82 million were exported in April, the second largest export.
Myanmar earned US$-51 million from exporting 153,507 tons of rice and broken rice in May, US$-50 million from exporting 146,094 tons in June, US$-66 million from exporting 182,550 tons in July, US$-53 million from exporting 156,893 tons in August, US$-37 million from exporting 93,791 tons in September and US$-65 million from exporting 163,188 tons in October respectively.
The country is exporting rice and broken rice via border trade and sea routes and mainly exporting to China through by land and Asian, African and EU markets by water.
Myanmar exported three million tons of rice to abroad in 2017-2018 FY and it is the record-hit export within 70 years.
