The Central Bank of Myanmar (CBM) announced yesterday that it will sell an additional 23 million USD and 150 million Thai Baht to fuel importers through the Foreign Exchange Trading Platform.
The CBM had already announced that it would sell 23 million USD on February 5, 21 million USD on February 10, and 23 million USD and 150 million Thai Baht on February 24 to fuel importers.
As a result, the total amount of U.S. dollars sold for fuel imports in February has reached 67 million USD. In January, the CBM also provided 45 million USD for the same sector.
Meanwhile, fuel prices slightly increased in the second week of February and have continued to rise recently.
Currently, the fuel prices per litre are RON 92 – 3,215 MMK, RON 95 – 3,270 MMK, Regular Diesel – 2,765 MMK and Premium Diesel – 3,425 MMK, respectively.
