On January 20th, around 2:20 PM, a fire broke out on Panraik Road in (E/A) Ward, Yangon Region. Eight houses were burned down, and 41 people became homeless. Investigators found that the fire started from a mosquito repellent coil left unattended, which spread to nearby clothing and caused the fire.
A fire that lasted nearly 30 minutes destroyed 8 houses, including two single-story houses with thatched roofs and three two-story houses with thatched roofs. 41 people, including 19 children, were affected by the fire.
The affected individuals were temporarily relocated to the Shin Upaguttara Dhamma Hall in the village.
As a result of the fire, a 42-year-old woman named Daw Aye Kyi has had a case opened against her under Section 285 of the Penal Code at the Thuwanna Police Station.
