The upcoming Chinese New Year (Spring Festival) market will be held for seven days in Yangon’s Chinatown, Myanmar, according to a market committee official.
“The market is being held to preserve the tradition of celebrating the Chinese New Year,” said an official from the market committee.
Chinese New Year 2025 falls on January 29, and the upcoming New Year is the Year of the Snake, and the Chinatown New Year market will be held from January 25 to 31.
The Myanmar government has officially declared Chinese New Year a public holiday starting in 2025, and the upcoming Spring Festival market will feature lion and dragon dances, various entertainment programs, children’s playgrounds, photo opportunities, and many stalls.
