According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, Myanmar earned over 1.6 million USD from exporting over 1,100 tons of honey in the first nine months of the current 2024-25 fiscal year starting April last year.
During this period, the country exported less honey than it did during the same period last year, when it earned about 2.4 million USD from 1,600 tons of honey.
The Southeast Asian country exports honey to countries including Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Germany and China, he added.
According to the official, the main honey-producing areas in the country are Magway, Sagaing, Mandalay regions, and Shan state.
