According to the Myanmar Rice Federation (MRF) on Thursday, Myanmar exported over 2 million tons of rice and broken rice in the first nine months of the 2024-25 fiscal year.
The MRF said Myanmar earned 948 million U.S. dollars from exports to Southeast Asian countries between April and December of last year.
The federation said that 337,490 tons of rice and broken rice were exported in December last year, generating 145 million dollars in revenue.
It said that during the nine-month period, the country exported rice and broken rice via sea and land routes to more than 30 countries, including Indonesia, China, the Philippines, the Netherlands, and Belgium.
According to the federation, in the 2023-24 fiscal year, Myanmar exported over 1.6 million tons of rice and broken rice, earning more than 845 million dollars.
