According to the preliminary population census from the 2024 Population and Housing Census, the population of Myanmar as of the night of (30) September 2024 was (51316756), according to the Central Census Commission.
The census includes (32191407) people who were counted in the census and (19125349) people who were estimated for areas that could not be counted.
In addition, according to the census, the number of men is (15105215) and the number of women is (17086192). The number of women is (2) million more than the number of men, with men accounting for (46.9%) and women accounting for (53.1%).
In terms of population by region/state, Yangon Region has the highest population (14.4 percent) and Kayah State has the lowest population (0.6 percent).
