The 77th Independence Day Ceremony will be held on January 2, 2025, for rehearsal. On January 4, 2025, at 4:20 PM, the flag-raising ceremony will take place, followed by the national flag tribute ceremony at 7:00 PM and the reading of the Independence Day message. The ceremony will be held in front of the Public Square.
Therefore, Pyay Road will be temporarily closed from the event’s start to end. Vehicles travelling from north to south along Pyay Road must turn right at the traffic light point under the Myay Ni Kone Bridge and continue towards the Lower Kyimyindaing road. Vehicles travelling from south to north must turn towards the Union Housing Road, continue through Khayae Pin Road and Alon Road, and proceed to the Lower Kyimyindaing Road. The Yangon Region Government has made this announcement.
