Myanmar Institute of Strategic and International Studies and Thayninga Strategic Studies jointly organized and held a discussion with the Russian Educational representatives from the Russian Universities at the Win Zin Min Yar Zar Hall of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at 14:30 pm to 17:20 pm on 25 November 2022.
At the discussion, the members of the senior advisory board and the executive board of the Myanmar Institute of Strategic and International Studies, researchers and Vice Rector of the University of Yangon, Ministry of Education discussed on the topics such as “Enhancing Myanmar-Russia Public Diplomacy: Challenges and Opportunities”, “The Way Forward for Collaboration between Myanmar and Russia in the Higher Education Sector”, “Changes on Public Services in Myanmar”, “Myanmar-Russia Higher Education Cooperation” and “The Roles of Think Tanks in Myanmar-Russia Relations”. Then, the Russian higher educational representatives discussed on the subjects like “Myanmar Studies in Russia: Education and Research” and “The Current Balance of Power on World Stage”. In addition, the representatives and Officials from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, the People’s Friendship University and the Pushkin State Russian Language Institute shared the information about the studies in the universities. Afterwards, exchange of views was made among the participants.
The members of senior advisory board and the executive board of the Myanmar Institute of Strategic and International Studies, Director-General of the Strategic Studies and Training Department and officials, Professors, Head and students of the International Relations Department of the Yangon University and East Yangon University and the Ministry of Education were presence at the event.
After that, the Myanmar Institute of Strategic and International Studies hosted the dinner to the Russian higher educational delegation and the guests with Myanmar traditional cuisines. During the dinner, the artists from the National University of Arts and Culture in Yangon entertained with Myanmar traditional harp, puppet dance and cultural songs and dances.
