Vice Chairman of State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win went to trainees of People’s Military Service at a local training school in Pathein, Ayeyawady Region, and delivered an address to them.
Also present at the meeting were Member of the SAC Union Minister for Defence General Maung Maung Aye, Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Htein Win,Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Tun Aung, the chief minister of Ayeyawady Region, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, the commander of the Southwestern Command and officials.
First, SAC Member Union Minister for Defence General Maung Maung Aye delivered an address on enactment and exercise of People’s Military Service
Laws not only in Myanmar but also in other countries, responsibility of every citizen to protect their country in every sovereign states, enrollment of recruits in accordance with the law by systematically selecting qualified ones and by forming recruit teams, the needs to protect the country by deftly applying military tactics taught at the training school in battlefields and to be
loyal to the country by keeping high morale and fitness.
Then, the Vice-Senior General delivered an address saying as defence services personnel are those who have taken the four pledges by touching the state flag, they are required to be loyal to the country and the Tatmadaw, their comrades, their family. Being loyal to the country amounts to performing assigned duties successfully.
Being loyal to comrades or the spirit of camaraderie means loving kindness, attachment and allegiance among comrades.
Being loyal to families refers to keeping the reputation of families, not burdening the people and avoiding the acts that will damage the interests of the people.
Those who consider themselves as defence services personnel, they are good and precious citizens who perform state’s and the Tatmadaw’s duties round-the-clock. Therefore, they are required to keep their reputation by observing ethics and discipline of a defence services personnel forever.
As defence services personnel, they are required to perform assigned duties responsibly.
Moreover, they must follow three As by always practicing military tactics taught at the training school, always maintain military awareness and always be combat ready.
They must fight against enemies by following the Bs such as bravely advancing, bravely attacking and bravely defeating enemies.
A total of six batches of people’s military service have been successfully conducted so far and good citizens are now performing duties responsibly in battalions and units they are assigned to.
It can proudly be seen that defence services personnel who completed people’s military service training were able to fetch honorary bravery awards
within a very short period.
After graduating from the training, while serving in the respective battalions and units, they must go and apply the military skills taught by the training school and also follow the rules about how people should do and should not do.
Whether assigned or not, they need to make full use of the military skills they have learned, he said.
People who entered the service from all walks of life, but now wear the same uniform and they have been trained to have the same color, thoughts, beliefs and philosophy according to the training institutes.
They are good citizens who are trusted by the state and the Tatmadaw, and who are able to fulfill any responsibility given to them with pride in their military life.
They need to behave as heroes that the family respects and values, he added.
After the meeting, Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services, Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win presented honorariums to the trainees and greeted them warmly.
Next, the Vice-Senior General and the members arrived at the local military hospital and were greeted by the hospital superintendent and officials.
After that, the Vice-Senior General and the members visited officers and other ranks who are receiving medical treatment at the hospital individually and inquired about the conditions of disease, medical treatment conditions, and health improvement conditions, before giving them food and honorariums.
After that, the Vice-Senior General awarded cash prizes for the health workers who are serving at the hospital and the officials accepted.
After that, the Vice-Senior General and the members toured the hospital and fulfilled the requirements.
In addition, the Vice-Senior General made an inspection trip around the station by car, met the family members and greeted them in a friendly manner accord ing to the residential housing units, and provide food and rewards, as well as support and reward money to feed nutritious supplements for preschool children.
Similarly, Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Htein Win, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Tun Aung, and senior military officers visited the battalions and units according to the relevant command, met with family members, and coordinated the necessary arrangements.
