Chaungtha Beach, situated in Chaungtha Town of Pathein District, experienced a surge of visitors on December 25, as people from various regions flocked to celebrate Christmas. Street vendor U Ko Ko Naing mentioned, “The number of visitors varies daily, but holidays like Christmas draw large crowds. Holiday visitors fully book hotels and guesthouses, and the beach is getting busier with the New Year approaching.”
While Chaungtha Beach regularly attracts tourists on weekends and public holidays, it becomes exceptionally crowded during special occasions and extended holidays.
To ensure a pleasant and safe experience for everyone, local authorities, under Township Administrator U Thiha Aung’s guidance, oversee efforts to manage security, cleanliness, and traffic flow. Vendors must also follow regulations to help maintain order and hygiene along the beach.
