SAC Deputy Prime Minister U Than Swe, Union Minister of Foreign Affairs, attended the informal consultation between Myanmar and neighbouring countries today, December 19, in Bangkok. He reportedly met separately with the participants and engaged in discussions regarding the country.
Minister U Than Swe attended a meeting on December 18 with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of China, the Counselor of the Interim Government of Bangladesh’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. On December 19, he held a separate meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Laos, the Foreign Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs of India, and the Foreign Minister of the Philippines.
During the meeting, they discussed increasing cooperation to maintain the stability and peace of border areas and prevent and suppress cross-border crimes. They also emphasized further development and strengthening of bilateral relations and promoting cooperation. They focused on the ongoing collaboration to maintain stability and peace in the border region between the two countries.
Furthermore, they discussed enhancing people-to-people connections and fostering closer collaboration between the two nations on regional and international levels.
