U Than Swe, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister of Foreign Affairs, discussed the ongoing efforts to democratize SAC. This was emphasized during the informal consultation between Myanmar and neighbouring countries yesterday, December 19, in Bangkok, Thailand.
Minister U Than Swe attended the informal meeting at the invitation of Thailand’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Marisat Ngiramphon. Foreign Ministers from Myanmar and neighbouring countries, including Bangladesh, China, India, Laos, and Thailand, along with Deputy Ministers and representatives, were present.
Minister U Than Swe stated in the discussion that the government’s peace efforts are focused on development and democratization. He elaborated on the current development situation in Myanmar.
Additionally, the attendees discussed issues related to peace and security cooperation in border regions. They addressed matters concerning collaboration to combat cross-border crimes.
