Local news reports in Bangladesh indicate that Bangladesh has not accepted 380 bags of rice exported from Maungdaw Port in Rakhine State under the tax receipt of the terrorist AA.
The 19-metric-ton rice ship, signed by the terrorist AA, arrived at Teknaf Port in Cox’s Bazar district on Tuesday evening, December 17. The rice was shipped without any prior agreement between the Bangladesh government and the terrorist AA on trade matters.
The rice bags were loaded onto a Tat Nay Tun motorboat and driven to Teknaf Port in Cox’s Bazar District, Bangladesh, via Maungdaw Port, using a terrorist AA tax receipt. The rice exporter was identified as U Tun Lin San, a rice trader, and the tax receipt stated that 684,000 kyats were paid to the AA group for 380 bags of rice at Maungdaw Port, according to local news reports, along with a photo.
Local news outlets quoted Teknaf Port Customs Officer BM Abdullah Al Masum as saying that rice cannot be sold without the approval of the Bangladeshi central government and that the rice and the rice-laden vessel will be confiscated if the relevant Myanmar government fails to produce proper documents. The Bangladeshi government also said that it has no official contact with the terrorist AA.
“We did not allow the rice to be exported from Maungdaw. We reported it to the central government. The exporters brought it with improper documents. So, if they cannot provide proper documents, the goods will be confiscated. We did not allow the rice to be exported from Maungdaw with illegal documents. They do not have proper clearance,” said BM Abdullah Al Masum.
