On the morning of December 13, in Tachilek Township, U Yan Htin Chan, who operated an OK currency exchange shop in Mekong Ward, was spraying water in front of his house when he was forcibly taken into a car by unknown youths (4) and kidnapped. Daw Kyi Kyi Htay, the wife of the kidnapped victim, U Yan Htin Chan, complained, prompting the Tachilek District police and officials to investigate the matter to apprehend the culprits as quickly as possible.
Video recordings confirmed the incident, and the vehicle used in the abduction was located in Tachilek Township. The communication between the responsible police officers and relevant local informants revealed that they entered the Pasade neighbourhood next to the welcome sign via General Road, Picola Road, and Lahu Market.
Therefore, local police officers and officials conducted a search based on the type and number of cars used in the kidnapping around Pasade Ward and Sik Kham Ward. It is reported that surveillance efforts have been made to apprehend the accused as soon as possible.
A white Toyota Crown Royal Saloon, resembling the vehicle used in the kidnapping, was discovered at house No. (1/270) in Pasad Ward, Sin Phu Min Street, which is under investigation as suspicious. Upon receiving this information, the district police commander relayed it to the district police chief, who assigned relevant duties and led a raid on the house where the suspects hid.
After that, the military strategy group, led by the acting army strategist from the base, along with police officers under the Tachilek District Police Chief, conducted a raid on the suspect’s house in the Pasad neighbourhood. The group of defendants who had committed the crime opened fire and attempted to flee, prompting the team to return fire and make an arrest. It was reported that the defendants, Zhang Biying and Maung Maung Oo Pa (6), were shot dead and apprehended.
An M16 long gun was taken from the hand of an unknown victim due to crossfire. One magazine containing 17 bullets, a .380 calibre pistol with 14 rounds of ammunition, and a shell casing; (4) bullets were found. He was discovered dead along with (4) shell casings.
After that, they continued to search the house and found 65,000 pills of WY for schizophrenia, (6) sets of car number plates, black armour, (2) a uniform jacket with a police badge, and clothes used in the crime. It is understood that the (3) phones they were holding were confiscated.
It was discovered that among the six (6) deceased defendants, Chiang Biyen and Maung Maung Oo were residents of Kut Khaing City. He has already been transferred to Tachilek District Public Hospital.
