Mind-altering drugs valued at over 5.7 billion kyats in Tachilek city, including ACE (methamphetamine) and ketamine, led to the arrest of individuals associated with Ecstasy and Happy Water, according to the Myanmar Police.
On December 14 at 5:00 p.m., a joint team comprising anti-narcotics police forces conducted a raid in Shan State (Eastern), specifically in Tachilek City, at the residence of Kyan Kyar An in Waynkyar Ward. According to reports, the search of Soi Daran’s home resulted in the seizure of 141 kilos of mind-altering drugs, including 23 kilos of ketamine and 128,000 ecstasy pills.
According to the identification of the accused, at 5:30 p.m. that day in Sansai Ward, Tachilek City, the owner of the seized mind-altering drugs, Tom Longfu (b) Arhwar, continued the search of the home. Along with him, Tom Shikwan was found with 2 kilos of the mind-altering drug Happy Water, 16,000 Happy-5 pills, and 141 kilos of ACE (methamphetamine). In total, over 5.7 billion Kyats worth of drugs were seized, including 9 kilos of acetate powder, 23 kilos of ketamine, 128,000 Atex tablets, 2 kilos of Happy Water, 16,000 Happy-5 tablets, and 9 kilos of ecstasy powder.
The Myanmar Police have received information that legal action has been initiated against the arrested culprits. The investigation and identification of the criminal network are ongoing.
