The first Myanmar-China (Chongqing) Cultural Exchange event, “The Art of Connection from Myanmar to Chongqing,” was held at the Chongqing Art Theatre on 14 December 2024. The organizers were the Consulate General of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Chongqing and the Yuzhong District Government of the People’s Republic of China.
Consul General U Kyaw Zay Yar Lin and Deputy Mayor Lai Liang of Yuzhong District delivered speeches at the opening ceremony.
During the cultural event, 21 Myanmar theatrical experts, led by U Pho Chit, Chairman of the Myanmar Theatrical Association, presented traditional performances from Myanmar.
Among the performances were Myanmar traditional puppet shows, Myanmar duet dances, Kyaukse elephant dances, Pyapon Royal Ramayana dramas, traditional folk dances, and Myanmar Thingyan dances.
In addition to participating in the performances, the Chinese cultural team also shared their cultural heritage with the audience.
