Myalatt Voice News Agency condemned the incident today when a couple of lesbian journalists were attacked by a man named Win Kyaw, who had been drinking and using drugs and assaulted them, saying that the NUG-affiliated PDFs did not help the victims and even drove the women away.
On the night of December 14, while reporting from an internet shop where they had opened PDFs of a lesbian couple, Win Kyaw, who was hiding over ten million kyats from Kayah, was a drug addict and drunk, and the news she was writing was written when he needed to pay for his alcohol and sex. She insulted Suu Kyi’s partner, Thaw Thaw, by pulling her hair, punching her in the face, and dragging her away. The PDF battalion commander and the PDFs who were in the shop running an internet shop and doing business were standing by and watching, and they drove the two of them away.
In a statement issued by Myaelatt News Agency condemning the incident, Win Kyaw, a drug addict, expressed concern for the lesbian couple, who were working in business in Arayat Township, Sagaing Region, where the incident occurred, because they were familiar with the PDFs who were standing by and watching.
Currently, Win Kyaw is facing two charges from the Township Prosecutor’s Office, and MyaeLatt Voice News Agency reporter Nyein Chan Suu Kyi, a lesbian woman, has also requested help on Facebook to help those who cheated.
