The day course of first year (first semester) for those who passed matriculation exam in 2022 started to open on 21 November, 2022 and first-year students have attended at the respective universities.
A chemistry student from Dagon University said: “A lot of first-year students came to Dagon University. Some parents sent their children to the university themselves and the university is teeming with parents and students.”
The Department of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education announced that all day courses of first year (second semester) and from second year to master courses will be opened at universities, degree colleges and colleges on 10 November, 2022; and first year (first semester) for those who passed matriculation exam in 2022 began to open on 21 November.
The Nay Pyi Taw Technological University will open first-year courses for those who passed matriculation exam in 2022 in the 2022-2023 academic year.
There are 75 universities, degree colleges under the Ministry of Education and a total of 175 including universities, degree colleges and colleges of 11 ministries have been opened.
Although there were 300,000 applicants for matriculation exam in 2022, only 281,751 students appeared in the exam and 132,077 passed the exam. So, over 100,000 students will be attended at the first-year courses at the universities
