The Zomi Federal Union (ZFU) has issued a statement requesting action to be taken against those responsible for the brutal assault and killing of a mentally unstable young man by the Chin National Army (CNA).
It is reported that Tan Lann Khun, the son of U Wun Khun from the Skao village tract in Tiddim Town, who has a mental health condition, was arrested by armed Chin National Army (CNA) forces on December 9, 2024, near Toun Tawng Village while he was on his way to Tawnza Town.
Tan Lann Khun, who was unlawfully detained, was subjected to violent interrogation by the armed CNA forces. Sadly, it is reported that he passed away on the morning of December 10, 2024, as a result of mistreatment at the hands of the CNA forces.
Regarding the brutal killing of the unarmed and mentally stable Tan Lann Khun, the Zomi Federal Union has issued a statement calling for accountability and justice. The Zomi Federal Union demands that those responsible, including leaders within the CNA forces, be held accountable under the law and that effective action be taken to ensure justice. Furthermore, the Union has urged an end to indiscriminate killings among the Chin people.
