Over 25 billion Kyats have been spent to support the loss of homes and deaths caused by the ragi storm, Deputy Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC), vice Senior General Soe Win said at the coordination meeting of the National Disaster Risk Management Committee held on November 8.
Regarding the floods caused by storm Ragi, the SAC chairman personally led the emergency response activities of the flood-affected areas. The SAC vice chairman said that more than 25 billion kyats were spent on activities such as providing necessary support to flood-affected areas, providing support to those who lost their homes, and providing emergency food.
With the state’s fixed fund and donations from donors, schools in flood-affected areas were repaired and reopened as soon as possible. The SAC vice chairman said that it was found that all basic education schools were reopened within about a month after the flood.
