The 11th Cambodia-Lao-Myanmar-Vietnam (CLMV) Summit, held today in China, was chaired by Major General Min Aung Hlaing, Chairman of the State Planning and Administration Council (SAC). He emphasized the necessity for our members to possess the capability to endure international conflicts.

This afternoon, the meeting occurred in China at the Wyndham Grand Hotel in Kunming. The Prime Ministers of Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, the ASEAN Secretary General, ministers from member countries, deputy ministers, senior officials, and other officials attended.

Myanmar is pleased to have the opportunity to host the summit as the rotating chair for the next four years. The SAC chairman expressed his appreciation to the delegations from CLMV member countries who attended this summit amidst a busy schedule of meetings.

Additionally, the current global political complexity, international conflicts, and economic downturn have led the SAC chairman to emphasize the necessity of developing resilience amid food and energy shortages.

In Myanmar, agriculture plays a pivotal role. Acting as a leading nation in industrial and energy sector collaboration, the SAC chairman announced the approval of the “CLMV Development Framework” and the “CLMV Development Framework Implementation Plan” to promote regional economic integration under CLMV cooperation.

The agricultural sector of CLMV countries plays a crucial role in regional integration and economic development. Therefore, the SAC chairman stated that it is essential for CLMV countries to continually explore new agricultural technologies, produce high-quality products, and establish a sustainable environment.

The CLMV meeting is held every two years. During Myanmar’s rotating chairmanship, the SAC chairman stated that he had collaborated closely with all member countries to ensure the summit occurred regularly and to achieve fruitful outcomes from their cooperation.

The chairman of the 11th Cambodia-Lao-Myanmar-Vietnam (CLMV) Cooperation Summit transferred the rotating chairmanship to the Prime Minister of Vietnam, who accepted the position.
