According to U Myo Min Aung, deputy director of the Department of Hotels and Tourism (Bagan) branch, over 2 million pilgrims visited the Shwezigon Pagoda in Bagan’s ancient cultural area during the first 10 months of this year.
During the 10 months from January to October 2024, 2.2 million pilgrims visited, an increase from 1.9 million during the same period last year, surpassing the previous year’s figures.
There are 19 main places to visit in Bagan, and these places are (1) Shwezigon Pagoda (Hair); (2) Bird Shooting Mountain; (3) Lord Aizza Gona; (4) The Dammha Razaka; (5) Loka Nanda (Hair); (6) Manuhar; (7) Mya Pagoda (Stone); (8) Museum; (9) Kantotplain Pagoda; (10) Buu Pagoda; (11) Maha Bodhi; (12) Golden Palace; (13) Golden Cave; (14) Sabbenyu Buddha; (15) Ananda Buddha Temple; (16) Dharma Ram Gyi; (17) Sulamuni; (18) Htilominlo; (19) A Lo Taw Pyae Pagoda.
