Today, the State Administration Council (SAC) announced through its press release that all fixed-wing aircraft, which had been deployed by militants to target important locations in Nay Pyi Taw and Lewe Township, were successfully intercepted. There were no casualties or damage to people and buildings.
Today in the morning, militants attempted to carry out violent sabotage operations in the Lewe Township area, located in the Nay Pyi Taw Council region, by launching some locally-made fixed-wing aircraft from the eastern side. Their intention was to destroy key buildings and locations, as well as to create panic among the public, using malicious and deceptive tactics to provoke fear and carry out destructive acts.
The attempt to carry out these activities was detected in advance by the Air Defense Forces, who are responsible for air security within the Nay Pyi Taw Council region. Using air defense systems, they were able to intercept and neutralize all of the fixed-wing aircraft. As a result, three fixed-wing aircraft were destroyed in mid-flight.
Due to the interception by the air defense systems, the local people reported the crashes of the fixed-wing aircraft. In response, security personnel conducted necessary search and investigation operations to ensure public safety. As a result, one aircraft was found near Kyaungyaye village, another near Kyan-khin-su village, and a third near Nannoon Ey village, with bombs on board. These aircraft were successfully located and seized.
Furthermore, it was reported that the bombs were safely and systematically dismantled to prevent any harm to the public. With the help of technical assistance, the locations where the fixed-wing aircraft were launched were identified. Security forces were able to respond swiftly to these areas, ensuring there were no casualties or damage to people and buildings. The security forces are continuing to carry out necessary security operations to enhance public safety.
