Myanmar attracted over US$-210 millions of foreign direct investment (FDI) in October, and it is the second largest investment this financial year, according to the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA).
As the country received only US$-20.635 million in August and September, the inflow of FDI increased ten-fold in October.
Myanmar attracted US$-5.995 millions of FDI in the end of April; US$-15.332 million in the end of May; US$-21.991 million in the end of June; US$-1,220.525 million in the end of July. The energy received US$-702.403 million and service sector US$-376.068 million.
Then, the inflow of FDI dropped to US$-10.343 million in August, receiving US$-1,230.868 million. The total inflow of FDI was US$-1,241.160 million within six months. Afterwards, Myanmar received US$-210.733 millions of FDI in October and total FDI increased to US$-1,451.893 million.
The country received US$-114.6 million from energy sector; US$-35 million from service sector; US$- 7 million from mine sector; US4-2.5 million from agricultural sector; US$-0.800 million from hotel and tourism sector and US$-50.833 million from manufacturing sector in October.
Myanmar attracted US$-92,431.236 million of FDI and US$-2,188.090 million to SEZ in the end of October this year, totaling US$-94,619.326 million.
