The Information Team of SAC announced today, November 4, that Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Min Aung Hlaing will make a goodwill visit to China in the next few days.

Local political analysts say that as the chairman of SAC, he will attend the ASEAN summit and business meetings during his visit to China. This visit marks the beginning of a new era of China-Myanmar relations.

“Considering China-Myanmar relations, I believe this is the beginning of a new era of relations between both countries. Last months, there have been widespread reports that the leader of the Myanmar government, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, will make a goodwill visit to China. There are various reviews on that. This visit is the first visit to China by the chairman of SAC after the Chinese foreign minister, a top figure in China, came to Myanmar. This visit can be considered a good sign for China-Myanmar bilateral relations.
China-Myanmar is a neighbouring country. There are many borders. Therefore, the Asian continent, including ASEAN, can exist in peace only if we can work together according to the Win-Win Theory. China-Myanmar friendly relations will also be successful. At the moment, there are also domestic issues, so we will have to continue to watch with interest to see what will be particular about the visit of the chairman of SAC to China,” said Ko Kyaw Kyaw Myint, a local political analyst and a veteran journalist.

The visit of chairman of the SAC will be at the invitation of the People’s Republic of China, and during the visit, the prime minister will attend summits of the Greater Mekong Subregion and the Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Co-operation Strategy (ACMECS) and join a meeting with Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam on Nov 6 and 7 in Kunming, said SAC information team.

“The prime minister will have meetings and discussions with authorities from China and will work on enhancing the bilateral relationship, economics, and development in several sectors,” it said, referring to the junta chief, according to the information team of SAC.
