As the CDF—Matupi Brigade (1), Chin Brotherhood, and AA forces encamped at the Historic Christian church buildings, hospital, and dispensary in Nglai Village, Matupi, Chin State, the local residents who are fleeing the war are unable to return to their homes.
“The military’s aerial bombardment does not directly harm the people. The main target is where the armed groups base—airstrikes on the places where the armed groups have made their encampment. The armed groups also chose to base in public places used by the public such as religious buildings, government offices and hospitals. Therefore, if the aerial bombardment hits those areas, those armed groups are accused of the military killing the residents. That’s why armed groups shouldn’t settle in public places,” a Chin ethnic told MT News.
The Global Ngaleng Organization (GNO) stated on November 1 last year that it objected to encampments, the withdrawal of fortifications, trenches being dug in the dispensary and using religious buildings as soon as possible.
