According to the Myanmar Rubber Planters and Producers Association, Myanmar aims to meet a rubber export target of 326,000 tonnes in the current financial year 2024-2025 beginning 1 April. Approximately 100,000 tonnes of rubber have been conveyed from Myanmar so far. Myanmar produces 300,000 tonnes of rubber annually. Myanmar exports 70% of its rubber to China and Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, the Republic of Korea, India, Japan, and other countries.

Myanmar’s rubber prices are influenced by the global demand for rubber, the production of rubber in Southeast Asian nations, and the market supply. In Myanmar, rubber is commonly cultivated in the Mon and Kayin states and in Taninthayi, Bago, and Yangon. Myanmar has over 1.628 million acres of rubber plantations, according to data from the 2018-2019 rubber season. Mon State accounts for 497,153 acres, Taninthayi Region for 348,344, and Kayin State for 270,760.
