Investment Approvals Granted for Two Projects Worth Over $1 Million and 860 Million Kyats in Yangon Region

The Yangon Region Investment Committee’s (10/2024) meeting confirmed the approval of one fully Myanmar-owned investment in the hospitality and tourism sector, as well as one joint foreign investment in the industrial sector.

The meeting was held on the morning of October 23 at the Yangon Region Investment Committee office in Yangon. It was attended by the chairman of the Yangon Region Investment Committee, members of the Yangon Region government, Chief Minister U Soe Thein, and special invitees.

According to the meeting’s decision, the Yangon Region Investment Committee approved one fully Myanmar-owned investment in the hospitality and tourism sector and one joint foreign investment in the industrial sector. The approved projects include a hotel services business and a garment manufacturing operation using the CMP (Cut, Make, and Pack) system.

The total investment amount for these projects is 860 million kyats and $1.103 million, which is expected to create 622 job opportunities within the country. Additionally, the meeting also discussed and made decisions regarding presentations from 11 companies on various general matters.
