K3.98B worth of stimulant tablets seized in Yangon Region

The Myanmar Police Force reported the seizure of 3.98 million stimulant tablets, valued at K3.98 billion, in Yangon Region. Acting on a tip-off, a combined team, including anti-narcotics police, searched a Fielder vehicle driven by Win Htut and accompanied by Tin Maung Latt (aka) Karad Bai in Dagon Myothit (North) Township at 4:30 pm on 14 October, leading to the discovery of 300,000 stimulant tablets.

Following further investigations, police found 3.68 million more stimulant tablets at Win Htut’s house in Dagon Myothit (South) Township at 5:30 pm after stopping a Toyota Succeed in Dagon Myothit (North) Township at 5 pm.

The suspects confessed that the drugs were sold by Han Thein (aka) Sai San Swe) from Namsang Township in Shan State and purchased by Soe Myint (aka) Ziburamauk from Maungtaw Township in Rakhine State. Subsequent police action led to the arrests of Soe Moe Aung (aka) Molzuraman in Botahtaung Township, Kyaw Win Soe, and his wife, Ma Thida Win (aka) Yasamin, in Mahaaungmyay Township.

Legal action has been initiated against the offenders, and further investigations are ongoing to arrest other suspects involved in the case.
