The 2nd Myanmar-Russia joint security naval exercise opened with a ceremony on 22 October at Naval Training Command’s Thiri Maha Zeya Kyaw Htin Hall.
Participants included senior officials from Tatmadaw (Navy), the Russian Navy and the Russian military attaché to Myanmar. After the ceremony, they all posed for documentary photos.
The four navy ships from the Russian Pacific Fleet arriving in Myanmar for the 2nd joint naval exercise left from Myanmar’s Thilawa Port yesterday morning.
Their visit included visits to famous sites in Yangon, friendly sports contests, studies of naval vessels from two countries, dinner events, and harbour phase exercises. They headed to naval exercise operating areas with the Tatmadaw (Navy) vessels.
