Yesterday, on October 23, Lashio City experienced four bombings.
The attack occurred in Melhan village, located in Lashio city—the old traditional rice distillery in Kho San Tan village, along with Police Station No. (1) in Ward (12) and the nearby prison were bombed, resulting in damage.

At 8:30 in the morning, the old traditional rice distillery where MNDAA is located. Around 10:00 a.m. near Ward 12. After 3:00 p.m., the police station and prison where the MNDAA teams were stationed were bombed, marking the fourth aerial bombardment of the day.

“Four additional bombs were dropped on No. 1 police station. Four were in prison. Around 10 a.m., one landed near Ward 12. Regarding the rice and liquor factory, four bombs were dropped on the same day. Now, drugs are being produced at the distillery by MNDAA. The weapons are concealed there as well. The police station is where the fees are collected. Unclear what transpired in the prison. At the police station, I heard a hit to Kokang. It has only been 10 days since we returned to Lashio. I came to check on the house. We must avoid conflict these days. It has worsened. Now,” a Lashio resident told MT News.

The MNDAA statement indicated that there were no casualties from the airstrike on the traditional rice distillery; however, it detailed the magnitude of the explosion and did not specify whether other areas had been bombed.

The MNDAA reported that three individuals were injured when Lashio was bombed on the morning of October 22, following the bombings in Lauk Kai City and Nam Hu Township on October 19 and 20.

As of yesterday, October 23, there have been a total of 24 airstrikes in Lashio.
