The Myanmar Rice and Rice Federation (MRF) has announced that high-quality 90-day and Tunpu secondary seed grade (Foundation Seed) rice can be purchased for 65,000 kyats per basket. This rice is produced in collaboration with the Department of Agricultural Research and the MRF.
“There is no limit to the quantity that can be purchased. We need to support this initiative. If you buy 30 baskets, we need to know where those 30 baskets will be used and which region will grow the seeds again. Since these are foundation seeds, we will primarily sell them to those who will reproduce the seeds,” said an official from the Myanmar Rice Federation.
Those interested in purchasing seeds should contact the Myanmar Rice Federation with their address and phone number.
After depositing the required amount into the bank account provided by the federation, they must visit the Department of Agricultural Research to collect the seeds.
“Once the deposit is made, I will notify you so you can pick them up here. I will provide a paper receipt, which you’ll need to show for the collection,” he added.
