During the weekend, tourism operators in the Bagan-Nyaung U area reported a significant influx of foreign tourists.
Bagan – Local tourism operators noted that domestic tourists have been arriving in the Nyaung U area steadily since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Bagan Region, part of the Mandalay Region and located in Nyaung U Township, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

According to travel records from the Department of Hotels and Tourism (Bagan Branch), the region welcomed 5,229,149 foreign tourists in 2023.
