Due to the increase in diesel fuel prices, the fares for circular and local trains operating around Yangon will rise starting October 20, as announced by Myanmar Railways. Regarding the fares, for a journey of 20 miles, it will now cost 400 kyats instead of the previous 200 kyats. It is reported that for a week-long trip of 20 miles or more, the fare will change to 800 kyats instead of the earlier 300 kyats.
