Due to the local security situation in Kayah State, the university college Science schools were temporarily closed. However, the Loikaw Education Degree College has now reopened, as reported by the state-owned newspaper. The commencement of the second year of the re-opened Loikaw Education Degree College B.Ed Correspondence Course (4/2023) took place on October 15, with the state chief minister in attendance.
