The festival organizing committee has announced that 500 balloons will be released on the night of the full moon, October 17th, at the Shwedagon Pagoda in Tachileik town, located on the Thai-Myanmar border. In addition to that, on the morning of that day, Tachilek City, Mekong Ward, is holding a fish-free festival in Shwewanadi Park Creek. It is reported that 27 monks will be invited. There will be a safe prayer ceremony and a brief daily food offering. In the evening, guests arriving for pilgrimage will be served studita food, and those wishing to donate studita food can come and inquire with the Shwe Tigon Gopa team.
