The Australian government has announced that it will provide 9 million US dollars in aid to Myanmar people who are facing the effects of the ongoing fighting.
The Australian government also expressed concern over the worsening security and humanitarian situation in Myanmar. Due to the ongoing armed conflict in Myanmar, more than 3.4 million people have been displaced and 18.6 million people across the country are in need of humanitarian assistance.
The Australian government will provide humanitarian assistance to Myanmar through Australian partner organizations.
Since 2017, the Australian government has provided $880 million in humanitarian aid to people in Myanmar and Bangladesh.
