On social media, some people cheat on passport services using the name of the Myanmar Embassy in Malaysia.
The embassy statement announces consular services, approved replacement lists for lost or damaged passports, and information about C of I on its Facebook page and on its website, https://myanmarembassykl.org. However, False Facebook and TikTok accounts created under the Embassy name are spreading incorrect information, saying they can provide passport services.
According to the embassy, those pages do not concern it at all, and it is not responsible for dealing with them. By the law, the embassy will investigate those fake Facebook and TikTok accounts.
Therefore, Myanmar nationals can check the QR code for appointment dates on www.mekl.org and text +601125105774 for inquiries about consular service.
