According to the festival organizing committee of the board of trustees of the Kyaikkhami Pagoda, the Buddha Pujaniya festival of Kyaikkhami mid-water pagoda in Thanbyuzayat township, Mon state will be held this year in a well-attended manner.
From 11 to 15 October, there will be a non-stop recitation puja event of Maha Pathana.
On the full moon of Thadingyut, 17 October, the alms bowl floating ceremony will begin at 3:00 am, and well-wishers from far and near will attend. On that day, the Abhidhama Day ceremony will take place at 8:00 am in the religious hall on the platform of the pagoda.
The Thirizeya theatre on the hill and the stone pillar in the city center will also host Myanmar’s Zat traditional drama performances (open show) from 18 to 22 October. From 16 to 22 October, the Kyaikkhami Myoma stadium will host an informal football competition with 8 teams and free admission for the public.
The pagoda festival organizing committee has announced that those who wish to sell through stalls will be auctioned on the 8th waxing day of Thadingyut (10 October).
