U Than Swe, Union Minister for Foreign Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister, attended the 3rd Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) Summit in Doha, Qatar, on 3 October 2024, at Qatar’s official invitation.
ACD members’ heads of state/governments, foreign ministers, and representatives attended the 3rd ACD Summit at the Ritz Carlton Hotel. During the meeting, the delegations welcomed the summit theme, “Sports Diplomacy,” and presented their country statements.
At the 3rd ACD Summit, the Heads of Delegation discussed and exchanged views on regional and global issues and ACD Cooperation mechanisms. Members of the ACD provided updates on developments taking place in their countries at the meeting. The representatives from (32) ACD Member States have participated in the 3rd ACD Summit in Qatar.
In the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs discussed the Myanmar Government’s efforts to maintain peace, development, and democracy and to hold General Elections in the country. In addition, he provided updates to the Heads of Delegation of the ACD member states on the latest developments in Myanmar.
The Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) was launched in June 2002 in Cha-Am, Thailand. It currently comprises 35 member countries from five regional groups: Southeast Asia, South Asia, West Asia, Central Asia, and East Asia. Myanmar is among the founding members of the ACD.
