The military headquarters of the NUG announced today that 33 security personnel were killed and 43 others, including two captains, were arrested when a joint PDF force ambushed a column of security forces in Budalin.
Sagaing Division, Monywa District, Budalin Township Infantry Battalion Khmara (106, 309, 16), Khlara 229, a joint force (85) column under Namkha Division led by Major Kyaw Tint (Khmara-106) returned to Budalin from Kutawywa police station. The NUG military headquarters reported a skirmish from 12:43 PM to 5:40 PM on September 30, 2024, during a pre-emptive attack by the PDF joint forces southwest of Sipha village.
During the battle, 33 security personnel were killed, and 43 prisoners of war, including two captains, were taken captive, according to the statement.
Additionally, various weapons (56) have been reported seized, and there are also posts on social networks indicating that the security forces were shot and killed by the PDFs who were arrested.
