According to the Myanmar Motor Fuel Import and Distribution Association (MPTA), as falsely reported in the Exile media, the smart card system is not being implemented to purchase gasoline and diesel only once a day.
These fuel smart cards are not a card system where you add money and buy fuel like ATM cards, but only a type of card that collects data on the car number, type of vehicle and the type of fuel purchased at the time of fuel purchase. Initially, it is planned to start testing in Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon and Mandalay.
Making a fuel smart card like this is to accurately calculate the consumption of domestic cars. In order to do this, it is said that the main planning is to determine how much domestic fuel needs to be imported from abroad and to properly manage the imported fuel.
Exile media is reporting falsely today that the fuel smart card system will be tested in major cities including Yangon, Mandalay, Nay Pyi Taw, and will be allowed to purchase gasoline and diesel only once a day with the smart card.
