Bago Region, Taungoo City, Zeyar Khin Oo (21) Ward, Net Shin Naung Street. According to residents, a house fire broke out on October 1 at approximately 4:00 p.m.

The house fire was caused by overheating from the installation of solar lights, resulting in the death of a 40-year-old man living there who was suffering from a stroke.

“The one who perished in the fire was the youngest son of that household. They called him Ruby. He suffered a stroke, which left him unable to rise, and he fell into the flames,” said a close family member.

After burning for approximately 20 minutes, the fire destroyed two homes. Firefighters and seven fire trucks from the Taungoo Township fire station successfully extinguished the blaze.

“There is no such thing as a solar explosion. The installers made it too easy, resulting in loose wires and frequent breaker failures. ‘If the battery burns out, I can’t do anything more,’ said a Taungoo resident.
