The national census has commenced today, October 1, and according to those gathering information on the ground, immigrants are being given priority.
“Starting today, the census has commenced. It has already begun in all townships. Initially, we gather information from individuals moving and residing in locations such as train stations, bus terminals, and shipping ports. We will go door-to-door and conduct the census process from guest houses and hotels,” a source close to the administration told MT News.
The national census will be conducted from today, October 1, until the 15th. It is reported that actual population and housing content statistics in Myanmar will be collected in the field.
The collection period will run from October 1 to October 15. In many townships and wards, their teams conduct the census process,” added a ward administrator.
Historical data indicates that the census in Myanmar has been conducted since 1872, occurring regularly every ten years.
The SAC press release team has announced that the national census is conducted to disclose invaluable statistical information about the country accurately.
Additionally, from October 1 to 15th, everyone residing in the country will be counted and asked questions regarding the population and household contents. Reports indicate that the audit team will carry out the inquiries.
