Firefighters said the fire erupted at the Ooredoo phone tower on the NTS Mart hotel storage building at approximately 12:05 PM on September 29(yesterday), Mya Taung Minister U Moo’s street, Industrial Zone (1), Hlaing TharYar (Eastern) Township, Yangon Region.
Inspectors reported that the fire spread to the circuit boxes because of overheating wires in the telephone tower control circuit box.
The fire burned for 25 minutes, involving six firefighting vehicles and three water carriers. One administrative vehicle and more than 40 reserve auxiliary firefighters extinguished it.
As eight circuit boxes were lost in the fire, the individual who acted negligently will be investigated.
